I recently came across two different ebay lots with the same "back on front" transfer error...

One of these looks to be a genuine error while the other one raises a Red Flag..

(I'll for a few replies and see who else can spot the differences between both notes before posting the photos and point out what caught my eye)..

My husband knows much more about these than I do, but I am sure I see one discrepancy.. I would go with the 1969 as genuine.

I think the 1969 is genuine, as well. On the other bill, the size of the transferred image is slight smaller than the original image. I don't know much about these, but is that it?

The first one looks like it was done on a printer and I've never seen one that had a partial of two reverse on an offset printing error. The second one (1969) is legitimate in my opinion -- It appears to be a genuine partial offset printing error.

The real error is the 1969D note..

Notice the Mirror Image of Reverse plate #1543 located right of the lower serial number's suffix letter "A", that I believe is in perfect alignment with the Back Plate #1543..

The series 2009 Note (besides not showing the reverse side of this note) shows 2 partial back plates with no plate numbers..

To help confirm this as genuine, first you need to know what the notes back plate number is, then match it to a mirror image on the face side of the note..

On this note, it should show 2 plate numbers, with the 1st located on Top of the "E" in "FEDERAL" and the 2nd on Bottom, below the "O" in "ONE"..

Now compare both front photos, and you will see the exact position the (missing) mirror image Plate number should be..

Notice there are no plate numbers pictured..
(and I didn't waste my time contacting the seller)..

The bordered image on the back of all of our currency is smaller than the front. If you hold our paper currency up to the light and view it from the back, you will see it. The back centering to the front is called "registration".

Someone must have contacted the seller of the fake error, as he CANCELLED the 6 bids from 5 different bidders and ended the auction..

Broken-Coin Thanks, Lots of problems on ebay with offset transfers, ink smears and cutting errors and now...missing or obstructed prints as well. Check out this novelty on ebay: 322184321410. I believe, but have no direct knowledge, that this was done with an ultrasonic pen. The kind of tool the dentist uses to clean your teeth. I have suspected this may be something going on but this type of novelty kind of confirms it. Chemicals remove the entire print but this is very specific. Let me know your thoughts.

One dollar bill error bleached altered ? cool rare unique Washington must have !

i posted this note (or one like it) awhile back on another thread warning it as not a genuine error the 1st time it was listed on ebay..

I see now they are changing the title (with a question mark in the middle of the description), again to play with those not educated in errors..

Thanks
