Bought 2 10 oz bars plus 16 1 oz silver bars = 36 ounces @ $18 25 ASE's @ $20 each. Tube of 20 was 2013 yr. And a lot of grams of silver which brought the silver bullion total to around 57 ounces @ $18 a oz $1433 total

if you bought silver today at 18$ an ounce I would personally be very worried..silver is over 19.50 an ounce, so if you bought real silver today you did very well..You have a lot of bars there that say 10 grams silver but they are the same size as 1 ounce bars..I see a lot of RED FLAGS here,,

I don't like the bars that state 5 or 10 grams... I have a strong feeling those are plated with silver

45 10 grams bars. 450 grams. 450/28.35= 15 ounces roughly. 28.35 grams to a ounce. Have 52 ounces of bullion plus the 25 ASE. Bought off a Ret. CMSgt who's legit. The gram bars are the same width & length as the 1 ounces, just the thickness is different. heck yeah silver at almost $20/oz $18 I thought was decent. Even the ASE at $20 a piece were a steal

31.1 g to a Troy ounce, which is how PM's are typically measured.

Through what venue did you get these? Not sure I'd trust anyone but the big online bullion dealers (APMEX, JM Bullion, Provident, and a few others). I mostly buy from local coin dealers but I'm not as confident in them as I once was after hearing that one of them got fooled on a filled gold bar.

I'm AD Mil so we generally buy within our group. Or ppl who have been vetted: family members or other service members. So even though I might be stationed in FL (example) I'm still privy to silver around Denver especially with CO having 4 USAF Bases. Pretty much networking at its finest. Basically hoodlums, trash, or ppl that look iffy are no goes. Granted who's to say the original seller sold silver plated bars that passed through many legit ppl. If buying a large quantity from an unknown party I have it acid/weight tested prior to purchase.

Had a 16$/oz sale earlier in the week I missed out on. I'm still banging my head against the wall over it.

your puchase is still sweet. Although I still would do a few small tests on some of the bars for authenticity For even your trusted friends or CO may have unknowingly been sold fake bars.

Okay I hate pushing this issue but here's my question:
There are some "1 gram" bars with a masonic symbol on them. How much do they weigh? I have a feeling they weigh more than 1 gram total, but they could also be almost as thin as paper.
Have you done a magnet and specific gravity test on these....
Sorry my red flags are up on this... I don't like buying anything that isn't listed as .9999 and in troy oz.

In my opinion, one gram bars (or anything less than an ounce of silver) are gimmicks.

So I just had the silver tested via the acid/stone/magnet & weighed. Everything was real excepted this big titted libra (should've known) she wasn't real. The 1 gram, 5 gram and 10 grams all weighed in like they should and the 1 oz bars weighed in with 31 g. even though I did the gram to oz conversion at 28.35 because that's how many grams are in a ounce. Goofed up not inputting "Troy ounce" into the conversion table. Over all at 18$ a ounce still a good haul with money made on my part.
