Basically a lot of what has already been mentioned. What also turns me away from buying a coin is when the coin seller turns out incompetent or too pushy or downright lying. If I can't trust a seller or have doubts, I won't buy, no matter how much I want a coin. I learned that the hard way: better be safe than sorry.

Anything Euro is unappealing. Other coins, if the price is attractive, I'll consider it. I try to stay problem free with my Morgans,

Ugly coins due to staining, toning, etc. I have seen "dirty" MS65 graded coins that I have passed over for AU50's that are more visually appealing. If the coin ain't "purdy" I tend to look over it.

Ugly toning (this includes slabbed coins), cleaning, and excessive prices to name a few.
