I wondering whether this coin reaches a VF grade in spite of considerable wear in places; what do you think? Thanks in advance for your patience in looking at so many of my coins! Only 3 more after this one... Edited by Monnaie 07/11/2016 3:48 pm

I would say around VF-30.

Easily VF and not a coin I would call very worn. That is moderate wear at most and the dark color might be throwing you off. Looks VF+ as Coinfrog noted.

Indeed it is nice to see deep original toning on a Morgan.

Thanks again. True, a good deal of wear should be expected on a coin that's been around for 130 years, even though most of its life was probably spent in a box with other loose coins.

LOL ... 'very worn' is reserved for PO01 and FR02 examples ... this coin does not get close to that level.
Concur with VF range ...

Thanks for the input. It didn't seem to rate a VF grade based on the grading guide I looked at; I'm glad to hear that it does.
