Congratulations on your purchase LucV . Cashing in XforX NCLT with an eye for circulation coin was a wise choice in my opinion.

The toned background/shading especially on the obverse side of this one is very attractive. Seems like you got a good deal even if it grades at what you bought it for, and indeed lower cost '48s are hard to find because most were never circulated. Let us know how it fairs upon return from ICCS.

The only bad thing about this coin would be if it came back graded cleaned

Congrats on the great find! I'd say AU details though.

Thanks, the idea just came to me while at work last week. I couldn't afford to put out the cash for one so why not use money already spent.

I'll update the grade in a couple months when it comes back from ICCS

Just in from ICCS

Since the general consensus was that the 48 was previously cleaned and I didn't think it was very pretty, I decided to take a chance - Gave it a 3 minute dip in Leuchtturm a quick rinse and then 2 cycles through the ultrasonic jewelry cleaner

Paid off - the grade per ICCS

I'm happy since I bought it as an EF

I think I have an untrained eye. I honestly couldn't tell if the coin was cleaned!

LOL thanks, but I like to refer to it as "coin conservation" (If NGC can use the wording, why can't I)
