As indicate in another thread, I decided to unload my XX for xx coins. So off to the LCS after a brief visit to the Royal bank. Here's what I got, give me your grade estimates, I'll let you know what the LCS had it at. It will be off to ICCS next week with a bunch of SDs Edited by lucv13 07/15/2016 11:34 am

AU scratched cleaned , would NOT straight grade at either PCGS or NGC or ANACS . ICCS will denote scratched on holder. Good luck , let us know.

Always tough with low-resolution online photos... I hate sticking my neck out on a key date, without seeing the coin in hand. Good luck.

I'm gonna guess a very liberal MS-63 Cleaned on the LCS holder (I know nothing about how LCS grades and am curious)

All right then, I bought the 48 from London Coin Center, Thomas had it rated at EF. I'm hoping I can get an AU from ICCS

Looks like high AU - low MS to me, but with the (harsh?) cleaning the LCS "trend graded" it because they wanted $1100-1300 for it. Am I right?

The coin was graded by the dealer as EF, just dropped it and a bunch of his friends to the LCS as he is doing a shipment to ICCS this week. It's great that he agreed to take mine in - also cuts costs as he will be dropping them off this week - so only have to pay my share of the costs on return.
They should be back in a couple months - will post upon return

Quote: just wondering on why you settled for this one, they have many for sale already graded, was the price to good to be true. so too speak.. Well, I'm poor! I capped my purchase to money already spent, the reimbursement I received for the XX for XX coins, and I'll say that Thomas gave me a pretty fair deal on this, left me with a couple hundred in change Quote: I like dealing with Thomas... fingers crossed for the ICCS submission. Yea he's a funny guy in his own way, would love to get my hands on the old Indian he has in his shop - similar to this one in quality
