I just got this very nice-looking Nova Scotia Half Penny. How would you grade it? Do you think that it would make AU or would it be more of a solid EF?

Also, I was unable to find this particular coin on the NGC website. Would you happen to know the KM number as well as the mintage? Thanks!

VF-XF for wear. I'm not sure if there is any polishing on that-it seems a bit shiny.

oriole- Really? Only VF to EF? Hmmmm. Well, the shininess is mostly just due to the lighting on the obverse. But there really is very little wear on the reverse. But, yeah, there may have been an old cleaning & retoning.

DBM- Thanks for the help! Good to know of the value - I paid about $8.50 for it. So not bad.

@archraz, You and the others have a point. I must have been in a negative mood. I would agree with XF-AU. I still think that there is too much wear for an AU, though.

Cheers, Bill
