Nice find Rocky
It was issued as part of the Canada Day Series and is the
only 25c piece in the series that does not painted red highlights.

That Moose coin is so cool, I like it! You have one of only 16,028 of the 2004 collector coins. As Jimmy mentions it was originally issued as part of the Canada Day Series from years 2000-2008.

According to Charltons, 4,615 were given to new Canadians during Canada week. Another 11,413 of the total 27,000 were sold (obviously not a sellout) in a Walking Bundle for $19.95. It included the moose coin, a T-shirt, water bottle and pouch.

Not too likely unless somebody decided to spend it as 25c. It was issued as a Collector Coin in a proof-like finish, not as a circulation coin. Colonial Acres has it listed for sale for $25.00.

Mine just arrived today.
Don't know why I bought it as I usually only buy Silver Coins,
but got it for a good price.
Even though it is a commemorative, it still gets an MS Grade.
As you can see from the photo, it is highly reflective.

Rocky and Bullwinkle, yes that's it. Thanks John, couldn't remember what it was about this moose coin that twigged at my memory. Nice find Jimmy, I think this is one of Canada's best animal themed commemoratives, portrayed in a fondly humorous way.

Thanks Rocky-
I have only seen one graded higher (MS68) but the price
was way too high to warrant the difference.
