This one had been sitting on their shelf for over a month with a $12 price tag. Every time I went in, I'd look at it and contemplate buying it. I had some time to waste yesterday, so I decided to spend it browsing the coin shop. It was still there, practically begging me to buy it. So I did. I promptly brought it home and started filling holes with what I had laying around. My goal is to fill it with red coins. Easily doable for all but 3 holes. The 70-S small-dates aren't too expensive, but a BU 72 DDO isn't in my price range. I'll probably leave that one empty.

Nice! I haven't seen that style holder before but I like it. You know that once you get the entire thing filled out that one hole will be glaring at you every time you look at it! For that one you might consider compromising and getting it in something like VF-XF condition. Still a nice coin, but more affordable.

I have a number of Capital Plastics holders and just about the first thing I do is replace those plastic screws (I always wind up breaking them if I don't) with metal ones, available from Capital.

Quote: You know that once you get the entire thing filled out that one hole will be glaring at you every time you look at it! No it won't. I'll fill it with a BU memorial reverse instead (or just simply leave it empty)...hang it on the wall...and explain to those that wonder as to why that hole has been left empty that I don't collect errors and/or varieties. If I happen to ever find one in BU condition in my pocket change, or during my roll-searching, I'll plug the hole. If I don't, I won't lose any sleep over it.

It doesn't say which 72 double die lol. There are cheaper 72 DDO's to choose from.

52Raymo beat me to it. Nothing says you have to use 72 DDO-1. There are either 7 or 8 72 DDO's to choose from and some of them cost well under $20 for red ones. And they ARE DDO's.

If I pick up a slabbed one, I think there's enough room at the bottom of the holder to add the sticker once I crack it out. I picked up most of the proofs today. Still missing both of the small-dates and the '66 sms.
