So I was cruising YouTube looking for some videos on the preparation of dies when I stumbled into this:

The finished ring is a fascinating piece of work, but at what cost?

Sorry if this video offends anybody.

In my city there is a guy who does this. I should mention that he makes a point to only pick coins with no numismatic value. He wants the coins for melt or less, in any case. A Morgan dollar ring would be suitable, physically, only for a person with very large hands. Most of his rings use much smaller coins. It is actually quite a time consuming process, taking several hours and a process of heating and bending multiple times.

It is not a hobby I plan to pick up anytime soon.

I have a Barber half dollar ring. I wear it all the time. I also have a cull Morgan (1879P) that I carry as a pocket piece.

I've seen them before, but I never could figure out how they were made. Now only if I wore jewelry.
Thanks for sharing.

It's surprising the level fidelity of the original stamp that the artists are able to maintain. They're actually quite nice.

Video was too long to watch but the ring actually looks quite nice. I mean there's what, a million MS 1881-S Morgans in 61 and above out there I doubt making a few hundred into rings will seriously impact collectors.
