Here we go!!

Another wonderful "Days of..." thread, this time: The 55 Days of New Orleans minted US coins!

The history of the US Mint at New Orleans Louisiana is a fascinating part of US numismatics. The mint minted 3 Cents, Half Dimes, Dimes, Quarters, Half Dollars, Dollars, Gold Dollars, Gold Quarter Eagles (2.5 Dollars), Gold Half Eagles (5 Dollars), Gold Eagles (10 Dollars) and Gold Double Eagles (20 Dollars).

How does this thread work? First examine your collection and find all the O marked coins. Then make sure you have great pictures of all of them!!

Then post those pictures according to the schedule listed here. And then admire everyone else's wonderful collections while they admire yours!!

Moe

I LOVE me some Big Easy coinage and this thread is sure to be a show stopper. Whether a PO1 or an MS67, a "O" coin is a fascinating MM to own. Where else can you get gumbo, Saints Football, the fleur-de-lis, great jazz and a true historical renaissance that took place right here in the good old US of A? Oh baby, bring it on...
