I got this coin last night, and am not sure of the grade. The seller had it listed as VG-8, and I got it at a fairly reasonable price ($130.00) but - my opinion - I believe it will grade a little higher than VG-8. What do y'all think.

Liberally, Id go as high as F12
Conservatively, VG8

I think it's right on the border: VG-10 or F-12.

I'll say it just barely makes F-12.

I believe VG is the proper grade given the weakness of the motto on the obverse and the reverse rim not being complete.

Very nice pick-up for $130.00

I'd call it VG-08.

You need to be careful with raw 1932-D quarters since counterfeiters are adding "D" mintmarks to even low-grade 1932-P coins. I bought one a couple years back and learned it was a fake when I sent it in for grading. Fortunately my dealer made good on it, even though it was a year later that I found out about it!

Jim - the obverse motto is always weak on the 1932 as well as the early issues of 1934 ( ANA Grading Standards).
I believe the obverse is definitely F-12; however, I tend to believe the reverse leans more toward VG-8 (or VG-10) and, it's my opinion that a TPG would give it a F-12 grade (nope, I'm not going to send it in - it's for my album). 'Course, I'm still pretty new to this so if anyone disagrees with me, I'd appreciate hearing about it, and the reason(s) why.

One other thing - for those of you with a Coin World's Coin Values "MAKING THE GRADE" go to page 127 and look at the photo of the 1932-D quarter that is posted with the description of F-12 - awful close.

I'd have to say going by the ANA grading book that the obverse is F-12 the reverse is a little tougher but I'd say conservatively VG-8. Overall VG-10.
