I found this Note listed on the Bay yesterday and see that PCGS seems to have joined ***PMG in not knowing (or even caring) how to accurately describe Currency Errors..

It had taken me a few minutes to locate the exact series this error is printed on..

Before I post the Series of this note, I will wait a few hours for others to play the "What The Heck Series Is This?" Game..

It was so easy to CONFIRM this, I think PCGS dropped the ball on this one..

PCGS-$10-On-Ebay---Let's-Play-

I'll come back in a few hours to see who else can confirm said series, and anyone wanting me to wait a bit before posting the series, let me know with a "hold off" comment..

Consider this thread part of a Free Education Class on Errors..

In the meantime, I also found this F-A-K-E overprint transfer also listed from another seller, and what in this photo that says "Not Genuine Error"

PCGS-$10-On-Ebay---Let's-Play-

***Note; I have used PMG since 2006, and the last couple years I have had nothing but problems with them trying to certify Genuine Errors..
Instead of complaining, and returning the Notes for Correct Label Descriptions, I decided to make the corrections myself..
When it comes to Currency errors (and my 18+ years of error purchases) I believe I will forget more then the PMG graders know when it comes to errors.. And at around $75 per note Certified (when factoring in all costs) there is no room for incompetent graders..

Based on the visible signature and serial number, I'd say the Kansas City $10 is a series 1969B.

Edited to add link to answer; http://www.uspapermoney.info/serials/f1969bd.html

1969B (There were no Kansas City $10s printed for 1969C)

That was easy...

Treasurer Romana Banuelos shared signatures with Connally on series 1969B
J42240001A - J47360000A

and Shultz on series 1969C
J47360001A - J70400000A

I think PCGS should have known this..
Rest in Peace

The fake overprint is a mirror image.

Based on the position letter on the face there should be more than one back showing on the fake overprint note. And it could not possibly have been fed through the press at that angle.

Correct, it would have more than one note showing..

Genuine overprint errors can be shifted on a angle, and would show more than one note when jammed..

I purchased a few 8x10 BEP Photos from a Newspaper Archives that show series 1977A $10 sheets jammed..

I purchased them so I could confirm genuine overprint errors from all the fakes..

Right, 1969-B. Not sure you're right on the lack of KC notes in the '69-C series, Calzone.

The 1969C serial number / signature combo info is in the PDF file I downloaded from uspapermoney.info's site.

Oh, I noticed my mistake. That page was recently changed to separate the notes printed after January 1974.

On the original subject, all S/N data for small sizes notes is readily available in the wonderful book "Standard Guide to Small Size US Paper Money" by Schwartz and Lindquist.
