So, I got my main target last Monday and that was the 2016 Silver Proof Set! Now, before we get further into decision making, let me point out my ideas and stuff. I did get a $100 bill for my birthday so that can help with the two ideas I have. One is to get 1999 stuff, like the uncirculated coin set, clad, and silver proof sets, as we all know is an expensive year in the silver series, being the first year of the 50 State Quarters program, and I believe had a lower mintage than the other ones after it, but it's not 2012 expensive! Another idea is to get 2009 stuff because, hey, biggest year in coins! We had 18 coins in the proof sets and we had 36 coins in the uncirculated coin set! My idea for that one is to get both the clad and silver proof sets, the penny proof set, and the clad D.C and Territory quarter proof set. Now, DON'T SAY 2012! That year is a very expensive year, and I refuse to even try for it! Now, decision time! 1999 or 2009? Use the facts I gave out and try not to get me into cracking them out just to put them in albums! Edited by BoojiBoyTravis 07/30/2016 7:14 pm

That is a tough one .. I like both 1999 and 2009 sets.
If I had to pick
1999 silver proof set 2009 mint set 2009 clad proof. Silver proof it I had the funds.
Those three sets might be in the $100 range.
The 2009 mint set has satin coins and the Lincolns are 95% copper.

GR58, I forgot about the copper pennies! And I didn't know that the uncirculated coins had a satin finish! That is quite interesting to consider!

If your funds allow, why not pick up the 1999 and 2009 in silver? Just picked up the 2009 Silver Proof Set. Very nice looking coins. The multiple pennies make it different. The 99 set will eventually make it my way. For the near future, I have decided to focus on silver sets / coins - just my preference. Personally I like the look of the proof coins over the uncirculated coins in the mint sets. Enjoy choosing your sets and let us know how you make out.

I would go for the 2009 coins. IMHO I agree with all of the point you already touched on. Also consider that the 4 coin Lincoln proof set is a really nice looking set.

I love the '64 set... Not too relevant, but just putting in my Two Cents.

I also have to agree on it being a good looking set! I mean they are proof but they're 95% copper instead of the typical post-1982 zinc pennies and this is the only set with 4 PENNIES in it!

So, idea came into mind thanks to 88isgreat! I could get the 1999 and 2009 silver proof sets when funds allow! I have saved up $111 plus $5 of dimes that need to go to the bank, so that makes $116. I have a second birthday thing coming up this Saturday so, if I get at least a $20 bill, and the listings I'm looking at stay, I can get both of them! Of course that will depend on if at the thing I will get messed up over like it's a game of Monopoly and I get nothing but gift cards, because then it's back to square one with decision time!
