Picked up a $500 box of halves from a local bank a few days ago. It was a box to remember! Some of the highlights: 46 Silver Halves (11 90%,35 40%) A 1976s Proof (non-silver) A 1995 Atlanta Olympics Basketball Commemorative A 2005 Mexico 10 Pesos Bi-Metallic coin (got lucky with this; the roll this came in still contained 20 halves!) 32 2003P,26 2003D,13 2006P, and 10 2006D, all Gems Among the 90% silver, 5 Kennedys, 2 Franklins, 3 Walkers, And this...   I just stared at it kind of in shock; I would have been happy with a few pieces of silver, but this? Now I'm spoiled! I ordered four more boxes from the same bank, hoping lightning will strike twice! The order won't be in for ten days, but I will let you know how it turns out!  |

Nice finds,
Just to give the other side of the coin, forgive the pun.
I went through 2 $500 boxes today and found 1 1964. Lot of coins to dump for one silver peice.
I will be forever chasing the barber......

Trust me, what coppernickeldaddy found is a HUGE stroke of luck! I know lots of people are searching boxes because I've found stickers on coins and the last box I found at least 15 to 20 coins with Kennedy's ear blacked out with a marker.
I hate it when people deface their coins.
I hope my next order yields results like copperdaddy's though!

Well, what can I say CND? Congratulations and good for you man! I know we all wish it was us. One thing's for sure though, we won't find 'em if we're not looking. Eyeluv, if the rolls run out, we'll still have the ground to search  . Might not be the same but YaknowwhadImean? All the silvers and especially the Barber are pretty amazing. But what's up with all those NIFC's in one box? Couldn't get much better. It's like someone made that box up special, just for you. Like you said, you're forever spoiled after this one! Doubt any of us will ever find a box like that without out buying it at an estate sale or similar. |
