Considering sending these for a friend to NGC. Wanted to get opinions. All 5 have excellent luster which is hard to photograph. A few may get a slight acetone bath like the 24 peace. Thoughts?

Common dates in the 63-64 range; If you can get them in on a bulk submission, go for it, otherwise, ANACS might be the better choice, especially since they'll do the leg work for you on VAMs. The toning on the '81 is attractive and might earn a + grade at NGC.

I'll make an exception for the 1880-O, which looks to be a solid 62/63 and is a fairly desirable coin in any MS grade; it would be a good idea to have it slabbed, for future value purposes, as well as to protect it.

Also sending in the 1885cc I bought from coincents for my friend as well. So like 8 coins are going to be graded. Agree 80 o looks 63 typical weak New Orleans strike. I could see maybe a 65 on the 81 cause of the nice toning.

Do your best to grade them yourself.
Then price them in those grades (you're going to have to do this anyway if you submit them)
Calculate the cost of getting the slabbed; don't forget S&H.
If the cost is more than 10% of your calculated value then it's not worth getting them slabbed.

These are real nice, I don't see anything less than MS-65.

Nice lot. I would put all but the last one in the MS-65 range. The last coin, 1880-o, looks to be about 64. Carbon spots, weaker strike, and possibly a couple too many dips hold it back. I think at least 3 of these coins have an off chance at getting 66 since luster is booming and many are mark free.

Yea my buddy doesn't have much into a few of them. The 24 Peace will get a acetone rinse looks like a film on it possibly. Fingers crossed the 1885 CC Morgan bought from coincents grades well, I will probably have it tomorrow or Saturday. I can see the 1881 maybe pulling a 65 cause of the reverse rainbow toning...I will probably send all to NGC Saturday. These coins are going to be for sale in the near future FYI in case any of you are interested.

All look 65 to me except the 1880-O, which I would put at 64.

I agree with the grades given.

The 1924 is one of the nicest Peace dollars I have seen, both in strike and luster.

Having said that the only ones I would bother to send in are the 1880-O and the 1885-CC. Wish I could've afforded to buy the 1885-CC myself.

The other ones are in great condition, but common dates. These should sell well enough out of slabs. People are always looking for coins like these unslabbed for their Dansco Albums.

Just my humble opinion...Mont.

I think all but the 1880-o are worth submitting - they are all pretty spectacular coins. I think a few of them have a good shot at 66.
