I don't own this coin, it is graded by ANACS, what's your opinion on this one? As the subject stated. Clean or Not? *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Cleaned long ago probably. Below are what makes me think cleaned: obverse: with the darkness/dirt/stain around the stars, the cap, and the date reverse: with the darkness/dirt/stain inside the letters. the clean spots below the right claw and between the right leg and wing

The lack of luster vs. detail is a good indication that the dip was brought forth and your coin went for a dunk.

Cleaned, but wouldn't be surprised to see in problem free holder.

looks to be cleaned. You can see dirt around the date, witch is where the "cleaners" couldn't get to.

Has an over-dipped look that is unattractive. Details are XF+ but there's no luster, patina or grime? Improperly cleaned.

Really can't tell from the pic. It's a circulated coin so I'm not surprised to see a difference between the fields and around the stars and within the relief.

My guess is that the coin is in a AU50/53 problem free holder. The coin looks like it has been dipped.

Nice coin with a very dull appearance . Cleaned or dipped .

I don't own this coin, but was curious what everyone think about condition. Coins that are over a hundred year old circulated have this look that is hard to tell whether it is cleaned or not, unless it was cleaned recently.

I was perhaps a bit harsh on it earlier. It does look market acceptable for problem-free in the slab photo. I've certainly seen much worse in problem-free slabs.
