This 1991 Roosevelt dime I got for change at a local gasstation looks like he has two eyelids.

Anybody recognize this type of error and what its called?......I hope it isn't a doubled die and if it is what class type would it fall under?

If you look at the dime in US Coin Facts, you will see that it has the same ridge in the same place.

Where do you guys get your pics to compare coins like pennies nickels dimes and quarters of all the different years to compare your coins by?

Im using dimes in my jar...The dime posted was the only one that seemed different to about 200 other dimes ....Even Roosevelts nostril is different on the top pic too..

This is the coin I'm using as a comparison

I use PCGS photograde (free app) and whatever photos I can find on the interweb.

The second dime you posted looks like it took a hit in the eye area.

Hope that helps.

Keep in mind when using Photograde to grade your coins that if you have a scratch/ding/rim bent/finger prints/other issues with a coin, that is a major drop in grading. Sometimes turning the coin into a cull coin. So if there is an issue with your coin, it may match coin wear and be a certain grade, but all goes when there is an issue with a coin. So when selling or buying, keep this in mind. Also on a slabbed coin, buy the coin, not the plastic. Sometimes the grade is overrated/under graded. Some times the coin is not what the plastic says. So always keep these points in mind when your are grading/selling/buying a coin.

Case in point:
I bought a 1983P-1DR-001 back a few years ago and there was a spot on the coin that dropped the grade:

So how much would you think it dropped the grade?

Reverse is sweet!
