It seems that this date lima 8R is very rare and with a relatively high price.A similar coin with NGC certified AU 58 from heritage action was sold with $1600.
No doubt this date is more valuable than 1789\1790\1791 lima transit 8r. Is that right? I want answers.

If it's real it is scarce coin. No one in their right mind would touch that coin unless it was legitimately slabbed or they were able to do their due diligence first.

I have reservations about this specimen's authenticity - the dentils on the reverse in particular raise a red flag for me. The ones on the obverse are also problematic, for that matter.

An accurate weight and a measurement of its specific gravity would seem to be in order.

I have some reservations because of a coin I have only seen in photographs. The coin I have seen was part of the Ringo collection sold by Stacks. The Ringo coin is also a Lima IJ but uses a clearly different reverse die.

The obverse die of the Ringo coin shares several distinctive markers. The date in particular. Note the small 7 and the overall spacing of the date allowing for wear.

I realize that it is possible that the Ringo counterfeit may be a cast copy of a genuine coin. That would account for the thicker lettering.

However, the rim on the reverse appears to show dentils on the right side that do not run to the edge of the planchet.

I do not get a very comfortable feeling about the coin and I do not believe than ANY of the TPGs has the expertise to do anything more than grade this coin - authenticity which is needed her would require a more thorough testing of Specific Gravity and XRF as well.
