They were polygon shaped from 1983-1996 (I think that was the last year, maybe 1995). I have several of them myself.

The auction lot is totally correct. Check your Charlton catalogue for the info on small cents.

I agree with Pacificcoin.
The auction item is correct.
It is a 1991 12 sided cent.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

It is correct only if you assume that any coin not round is "odd". Non-round coins are extremely common in the world; I take issue with them being called odd. It just happens that the US never used them. It is just a silly marketing gimmick to sell coins for 10 times what they are worth.
