Thanks for the new additions, there's a typo that has to be corrected though: the 72 is a 72 kreuzer (1 thaler).

Ah, yes, thank you for the correction!

I found some new denominations from China: 3.2, 3.6, 7.2, and 7-3/10 candareens.

Has late imperial China been mentioned? They made coins to the "dollar" standard but denominated in mace and candareens, with 10 candareens = 1 mace, 10 mace = 1 tael, and 7.2 mace = 1 dollar. So...

3.6 candareens = 5 cent
7.2 candareens = 10 cent
1 mace 4.4 candareens = 20 cent
3 mace 6 candareens = 50 cent
7 mace 2 candareens = 1 dollar

Regarding the Chinese silver coins, the 7.2 has been on our list from the start, the 3.6 has just been added by Joseph 7420, but the 1.44 is a valid addition, thank you

New additions:
Brazil 4000 reis silver commemorative dated 1900 (listing)
Laos 15000 kip NCLT (listing)

Other example of an existing denomination:
Paraguay 300 guaranies (listing)

And a bunch of other NCLTs:
Mongolia 750 tugrik (listing)
Hungary 750 forint (listing)
Argentina 3000 pesos (listing)
Hungary 3000 forint (listing)
Monaco 3000 francs (listing)

Am I thinking about this incorrectly or should 1/5 be listed as "common"? Don't many countries (besides the U.S.) have a 20-cent equivalent? There are 20 Euro cent coins, 20 pence coins, etc. (Not to take anything away from the cool Danish and Mauritanian coins).

That isn't the case because I'm listing the face values as they are written, not dividing into main units and sub-units. So, a 20 eurocent piece would be under "20", despite being a one-fifth of the euro, while the Mauritanian coin is "1/5" because it says so. It would still be listed under "1/5" if its inscription was "one fifth", "2/10", or "0.20".

But of course, if you spot something that isn't correct (typos, numbers in the wrong order, NCLTs or countermarked coins not marked as such etc.), do post a note about it.

I see, thanks for clarifying. I was basing that logic off of the 1/100 entry.

That entry was based on those cents that actually say "1/100". And as those usually aren't the first coins that come to mind after reading the abbreviated entry, the whole thing may indeed seem confusing.

New additions:
Sao Tome 3500 dobras NCLT (listing)
Albania 7500 leke NCLT (image)

Laos 40,000 kip (listing)
South Korea 25,000 won (listing)

Why not put all this info in order by Country. Would make it easier to find out what is there and what isn't. For example I couldn't find US 2 Cent, US 3 Cent, US 20 Cent coins. If there, list is getting to long to find almost anything. Please consider putting it in order of Country.

I intend to keep this list as it is, sorted by denominations, lowest to highest, regardless of country of origin. The reason is that it is easy to find out which denominations were short-lived and/or can be considered odd from a certain country, given access to the right catalog. On the other hand, even Krause does not have a summary of the various denominations used around the world from antiquity to modern times.

Although attempts have been mady by certain online catalogs and they do have more examples, particularly for the more common denominations, my aim is a list of denominations which is as extensive as possible, not an exhaustive list of examples for each denomination (which is why I do not list all the German States that once issued 3 pfennig or 3 kreuzer coins).

Great list! I know that you already have 160 as a denomination, but I just posted a 160 Rattis coin here:

dspenciner, the thing possibly excluding this coin from the list may be the lack of the denomination spelled out on it (unless I'm wrong on that). There certainly are many coins that could be included among the many Indian states - and the reason they aren't here is that I can't read them. If you have/know of those that have their denomination written on them, we can add them.

Joseph7420, I'd rather not include the so-called micronations (or other tokens, for that matter) here. Actual coins intended for circulation and NCLTs issued by recognized countries only, please.

Ok understood.

The denomination is not stated on my coin--no prob. Hopefully I can find something else to add to your list.
