I have always been annoyed with the photo uploads process from this site so I'm going to use flickr I bought these two notes for 80 for the lot. Everyone else seemed afraid to bid on them but I took a chance. I was about to get them graded by PMG It's a $2 and a $1 https://flic.kr/p/K8n1xuhttps://flic.kr/p/L4YHdV

I had to pull out the 1st currency Book I had purchased about 45 years ago (North American Currency by Grover C. Criswell Jr. - 1965), and unlike my $3.00 Texas note (that turned out to be a copy), your Notes are the real thing.. I had sold my Early American Paper collection around 1998 when I switched over to Errors (you can't collect everything with shallow pockets), and the 1965 retail values in VG is $27.50 each.. Uncirculated prices was $37.50 each (and I remember thinking how expensive that was back then).. These are low resolution photos from my tablet.. Hope this helps..

It's a $2 and a $1 Your notes should be graded, and it may be a good idea to email Jennifer @ PMG and ask what Catalog PMG uses to Reference the 1960's Criswell Numbers.. Criswell's Numbers are Texas A-1 (dollar) & Texas A-2 (2 dollar), or you may want to ask what their fee is for them to research your notes.. As long as you don't submit errors of any type, you should be good.. Maybe someone else here can help you with the current information on Price & catalog Number..

I sent the $1 into PMG today. First time I ever sent something to be graded. I'll grade the other one when I get the first one back. I asked PMG lots of questions over the phone.

Brian, if you're going to collect Texas notes may I suggest you acquire a copy of: Texas Obsolete Notes and Scrip by Bob Medlar. It's available for checkout from the SPMC library; also available for sale from AbeBooks; just search for the title.

Techwriter I bought them becuase I came across them at auction. I may keep them or I may sell them off to discount a $1000 bill I always wanted to buy. Graded of course.

@Brian34Jersey
Please keep us (me) advised on the current retail value of both notes..
My prices above are over 50 years old, and know both notes were considered higher value notes back then, and many other Broken Bank & Obsolete Notes from this time period could be purchased anywhere from $3. & $10. each.. I used to purchase 4 subject remainder sheets for a average of $35.00 a sheet when I first started collecting this type of material..
I stopped tracking prices about 20 years ago, and then the $35 Remainder sheet had increased to around $100+ a sheet..
Now I see the same (sheet) notes cut into single notes, certified and selling for more then $100 a note..

I don't think I would sell them on ebay until next April. I may get one of those PMG executive accounts so I can get all my junk bulk graded before I sell off to get some heavy hitters. If anyone knows in addition I have three 1865 or 1863? .50 cent Richmond fractional notes in consecutive order. I would think consecutives would double the graded value of the note. For example 1 . One ungraded 1864 Frac Richmond $36.00 (I sold them on ebay before). 2. Same One graded 1864 frac $72.00 3 Same graded Frac part one of a consecutive set of three $144
