This coin has seen better days, however the overprinted 7 is so subtle on the PCGS site that I can't make out on my coin if there is a 7 or not. There appears to be something protruding but can't be certain. Opinions are appreciated. Thanks a million! Jon

Maybe if you could post some sharply focused photos without so much glare...

Date position looks close but much better pictures are needed of the whole obverse and close up of the date. An important marker for the 1888/7 is a Cud at 9 o'clock on the obverse. It is found on almost all example of the variety. I forgot the exact number but I know that there are less than 50 known examples of this variety so the odds are against you.

The Cud must be there for the real deal.

Not an 1888/7. Date position is wrong, no Cud, and, most important, I don't see an overdate. Sorry.

Correction - the Cud DOES NOT have to be there. Snow confirms this in his writings. There are many TPG examples without the Cud, and in fact I sold one through Rick just this past year.

Just for my own curiosity, what is the purpose of the "BLUE and WHITE" photo?
