I purchased this 1831 Capped Bust half dollar for $89.

With the toning around the rims I think it has not been cleaned, but I'm still learning the art of detecting cleaned and non-cleaned coins. There are no cleaning hairlines visible.

There is some light wear and scattered marks. There is still luster in the devices.

The photos are in the seller's holder, however, for the price I paid I think I'll keep this one even if the opinion is that it has been cleaned.

Please let me know if you think cleaned or original and the grade. Thanks.

Do folks think the cleaning is on both sides of the coin, or just the obverse?

I'm still trying to learn to detect this.

Obverse cleaned, possibly not reverse. Would need to actually see, although it's still EF details.

Both sides cleaned, imho - note similar tarnish residue on outer edges of both sides.
