Hello all,

This one came from a gas station in Houston.
I thought it was damaged post-mint, but looks like a less dramatic fold-over strike as the year and part of TY (?) has been struck over the top. The reverse is unaffected, as the rim is split - I will try to get a shot of the rim and reverse when I get home and post. There is another fold underneath Jefferson.

Any help/ suggestions appreciated.

First of all, Welcome!

It looks like a PMD though.

Seems to me that if the it was "struck over the top" that the fields would be flat. I am not an expert and this is only an opinion.
Rest in Peace

Better photos of that specific fold over area would be helpful.

Fellas, I took a several pics and I can't focus on the flap and the coin surface that close up, I guess -I am no more a photographer than I am a Numis..matist? Was hoping someone had an example image of a strike over a fold for comparison. Would it be flat? The fold layer is pretty thick. The 199 on the fold is really clear, but only from the right angle...it is faint, for sure.

I saw ONE example of damage like this, but some letters were visible beneath the fold (on the rim side) making it obvious PMD. This one confounds me.

Wish I was in a room with y'all to pass it around! It's too beat up to be worth the cost to verify either way.

Thanks for the responses.

The coin was struck as a normal coin would be. The fold over happened after the coin was struck Other wise the devices would be on top of the flap instead of beneath it.What ever caused the damage it happened after the coin was struck. PSD/PMD IMOH
