On the obverse, you can see where the G of God and We Trust is stamped inadvertantly. There seems to be a place on the obverse where the dime was "clipped" partially. What would cause this type of error to happen and what category of error would this be? Thanks! Jon

Correction* The reverse not the obverse is where the G of God and We Trust are stamped.

The damage on the obverse looks like some wire cutters and a grinder. The impression of letters on the reverse looks like a vise job.

Your welcome and yes that's why you see the letters as a mirror impression

The word is spelled "vise". Unless you're doing something unspeakable with the coin, it's not a "vise job".
