Hey all, I would appreciate your opinions on this cent. I think it is a Cud, but I am not sure. Thoughts? I apologize for the photo quality. I had to use my phone, as I am out of town for work at the moment.

Correct. A chip broke off the collar and until the collar is replaced, the coins will look just like yours.

Thanks CoinCents. I don't belive the cent is listed on COC. I will reach out when I get home. I have a dozen or so LWC BIE's and a few spiked heads I have been meaning to cross reference to see if they are listed as well.

Like the rim Cud signs. Would think if the break is in the collar then material expansion would flow more outward into the edge region. Sometimes revealing a crack or cracks. If contained by the collar the material will flow up into the (broken) die region.

Check for signs on the edge, also may see weakness on the reverse side opposite as well. Thanks, Doug.
