Would think if the break is in the collar then material expansion would flow more outward into the edge region. Sometimes revealing a crack or cracks. If contained by the collar the material will flow up into the (broken) die region. Check for signs on the edge, also may see weakness on the reverse side opposite as well. Thanks, Doug.
