1889-P Morgan Dollar... Rotated Die?

MontCollector Pillar of the Community United States 2403 Posts	Posted 08/24/2016 01:47 am I've had this in my Dansco for a while now and just noticed the reverse looks a little off. Like it was rotated by about 15 degrees counter clockwise. I took Obverse picture and just the flipped page to take reverse picture. Is this common for this year and mint of Morgan dollars? I went and looked at it again, looking for the DIs'. Couldn't find them, so I looked again for die chip. It is there. Hard to see, had to move coin around to get light to hit off it. I am revising this to a VAM-18A(Still a hot-50). VAM World also mentions the rotated reverse as common for VAM-18A Report this Post to the Staff

Don't ask me why, but for some reason I have always enjoyed those what I call "reverse" slanted dates, where the 1 is set higher than the other three digits. Too bad no photos for the page though!
