Can you all let me know what you think these markings are from? Die Scratches/gouges or maybe even over polishing? Thanks

I can't find it now, but it seems I remember an error coin called a 'banjo.' I woke up about two hours ago and wondered why it wasn't getting light? I thought it was morning, but it is evening..

Well the night before I was in a lot of pain and couldn't sleep, so I stayed up all night. So when I took a nap, I thought it was the next day.... Well it is hot here, but its a dry heat.

That is a great one coop -
Couldn't find anything with the search terms I was using for Banjo or die scrapes, oh well.
Anyways, one other question I am curious on. From the Mike Diamond website referenced - his examples are all on the reverse - so his die scrapes are going WNW to ESE direction. Mine is on the obverse going from ENE to the SSW - is this because the scrapes are on the obverse?
thanks :)

I think they are Die scrapes, caused by feeder fingers.

Quote: Cool coin. I believe these are also known as feeder finger damage My first thought was Feeder Finger Damage but when I looked it up I couldn't find anything that matched those terms and this coin. I have a much older quarter with the same odd marks and I remember reading somewhere that it was Feeder Finger Damage. I cannot remember where I read it. Anyway -- is the timing off during production and the feeder finger scraping the die?

Yes, they are incuse on the die, caused by feeder fingers. Must be a timing thing.
