Has anyone gone out and just spent a bunch of $2 bills to try and get them in to circulation? I was bored the other day at work and was thinking that I should have my Lead Teller order some $2 bills from the fed and just start handing them out to customers and non customers like they are an everyday thing. I dont know if people would think it was cool or just annoying getting the $2 bills when they do a withdrawal or cash a check.

I just thought it would be kind of fun for the tellers to do. We gotta entertain our selves somehow every now and then.

At the coin shop I work at on Saturday's we often get pack of $2.00 & dollar coin Sac & Pres and also Kennedy half dollars to give back to customer's.
I had one young person ask if the $2.00 was real when I gave him back change. he said I only seen the one that's was made in 1976 they sell on the Coin Vault with the stamp & postmark.
I show him the 2003 series date and try not laugh

I spend them whenever I get any but that is not very often. I always mean to get some when picking up rolls but generally forget. When I do use them most people just look at them funny and usually point it out. You know, "Hey, this is a two dollar bill" as if I didn't know. One time a guy gave me back change as if it was a five. And yes, I did point it out and got the correct change.

I mentioned it to my lead teller when I was at work today, she kinda liked the idea. So we might try it out on non customers first, lol, see how it goes with them, that way if they dont like it its not as big of a deal cause they arent customers. I really think it would be fun to do though. lol I work mostly in the drive-thru any way so people cant and dont really complain as much about how they get their money back. I can always turn the microphone off. haha

Yea, ive been doing it for the last week or so. So far no great reactions except the ones from people who work in fast food places. And the gas station. I have another 2 straps worth coming on Tuesday.

I'd like to see more in circulation. The obverse is by far the nicest looking design on any bill.

I'm a big $2 bill fan. It's an attractive note, and even someone of my modest means can carry a bunch of them.

I spend as many as I can. It's funny when they use the "counterfeit" pen on them before deciding to accept them.

I spend them frequently. Some people give me funny looks and take them anyway and others sometimes remark "Oh! I haven't seen one of these in years!" and then I usually see them switching it out of the register with their own money. I have never had anyone flat out refuse to take them or accuse me of counterfeiting but I would love to see that happen

I bought some food at MsDonald's and used some Kennedys and always get the look of curiosity when the see them. One young guy didn't even know what it was and had to call the manager.
