I am convinced that $2 bills and $1 and $.50 coins that are spent at stores go straight back to the bank in the nightly deposit. I've never seen any place that I spend them, use them to give change back to customers. If you go fill up your car with gas and pay in halves the cashier has so many halves that they compltly fill up a whole slot in the register, they still don't give them back to anyone as change. I spend them as much as I can, but I can't figure out how to actually make them circulate.

I cleaned out the $2 supply at my bank. Got all 31 of the $2s they had. About 25 of them ended up never being handled, and they all had consecutive serial numbers. Another one was a '63 red seal (is this worth anything special? I'm dying to know), and I found a '76 in pretty darn good condition.

The question I pose you guys is, how do you acquire $2 bills? Do you just ask your bank for them, and they order some for you? Or is it a matter of luck, whether or not your bank actually has any on hand?

I just go to a bank or two and clean out the teller drawers every two or three weeks. I usually get about $50 at a time. I have never requested an order since I seem to be able to get plenty for spending. I have multiple branches in my area so I am not too limited. On the other hand, I have a rediculously hard time obtaining half dollars.

I've spent quite a few halves around town.....but never really thought if they'd circulate beyond the cashier...maybe they don't .....the Presidential dollars......same thing.....but those aren't going to be worth anything ever anyway......so why bother.
Two dollar bills....you know....I've never even thought to ask for them at my bank ?....One of my banks has a coin collector working there, so odds are he keeps any that come his way there....but I've got two others. Heck even if you don't bank at a particular one...wouldn't hurt to ask maybe.

Oh, sweet deal, thanks. I have no idea what its grade would be, though. Oh well. Probably not gonna end up selling it anyway, just curious.

I asked for some $2 when I cashed my paycheck this morning and received 20 consecutive uncirculated serial#H00131121A thru 40A

Although it is cool that they are consecutive I really don't want to tie up $40 on the possibility that 200 years from now some Great (to the 3rd or 4th power) Grandkid can sell them for smokes (ROFL). These will be spent unless someone can give me a reason not to

i spent on at my school once for lunch. When I gave the bill to the cashier, he looked at me like I was crazy. I also like spending halves. Those always seem to amaze people

I bought 15 $2 bills today from the bank. The teller "looked" through them for the better ones. I got 9 1976 and 6 2003. All were in really great shape, no tears, rips, and all were crisp. The lady at the accounts desk said she'll have to alert the tellers so when I come back in ( I bought $30 of halves too) they'll have more for me...

Oh boy ...what have I started...

Just "today" I was at my bank and remembered to ask about $2.00 bills.....he said they had three.......I took em'.......all three in very very good crisp condition......2-1976 and 1-1995.....but no silver certificate's....no red seals.....or any other special color of seal.....no consecutive serial numbers......I'm thinking of saving the 2 1976 ones,.....but .....dunno....they are 32 years old......not much value though right ?

I also spend them as much as I can. I get about 30 or so a month and spend them in about a week. I love the reaction I get from cashiers when I use multiple $2 bills.
