Good morning everyone. I have this error Lincoln Penny that I would like to get evaluated. Basically, it is a normal looking coin, except that there is an "apostrophe" above the D and below the year (1984). I have attached the pictures for better visualization.
My question is what is this error called and what is the cause of it? Also, could you help determine the appropriate value of this penny? I tried to read on the error types but I did not find a description that fits this error. Thank you in advance and have a good day.

Crop you images to the outside edges of the coin, then you will get larger images. I can see something there, but it is probably gas under the plating. These gas bubble show up after the strike happens. They are easy to spt. When they are longer in a straight line we call them linear plating bubbles. They can happen on the fields or on the devices.

I understand what you mean about a detailed answer. When I was new at this, the person I asked usually gave me a yes or no answer. I decided then and there to be able to answer, I need to prove my case as to why I feel it is what it is. So that is the way I help others to learn, so next time, they can put it back into circulation if it is something common.
