I doubt you will see too many here who will say who the bad guys are, simply because they fear retaliation, even though we are supposed to be "anonymous". Usually a look at the feedback will give you a good idea of both the good and the bad. I would also mention that there are great places besides ebay to buy your coins. Although ebay is the "easiest" place to spend money for coins there are many, many other venues to purchase from great sellers, to include this forum. Great Collections are one of my favorites when I'm looking for moderate price coins and Heritage is my favorite when looking for slightly higher echelon pieces. Great Collections does not sell on ebay. Heritage does have a presence on ebay, but only the coins they "own" themselves, not the coins they have received via consignments. There are a gazillion good pages of information on ebay on this site already. Hopefully you will have time to review a few hundred pages!

Any one who has excellent extensive feedback ( actually READ their feedback), has been around a long time , offers no hassle return policies and is a member of a MAJOR numismatic organization is probably a pretty safe bet.

I have seen post about dealers that members say are bad guys with high ratings. It seems that inexperienced buyers can give good ratings to bad dealers.

Inexperienced buyers can also give bad feedback to great sellers.

There are two threads here on CCF, one labeled Discouraged Sellers listing sellers on ebay that members have had problems with, and the other for good sellers.

This is a superb question. While there are threads on CCF regarding worst ebay listings or great finds on eBay, there is not a thread that focuses on good (or bad) sellers in particular. I will post some other good guys later. I'm going to post sellers from whom I have purchased more than once since multiple good experiences are a better reliability indicator than a one-off experience. Here's my first list of three eBay Good Guys: I have purchased certified coins (Lincoln wheat cents and Sacagawea/Native American dollars) from the ebay sellers below, all BIN (Buy It Now) sales, because their prices are always below, sometimes significantly below, NumisMedia FMV (Fair Market Value), which I find to be the most reliable retail price guide. All provide excellent communication; fast shipping; and quickly compute combined shipping. arlingtoncoins2014 - Ten (10) purchases - total of 29 certified coins. cyberspacecoins - Five (5) purchases - total of 7 certified coins. coinedout - Three (3) purchases - total of 6 certified coins. ~ Mark

No, the threads I mentioned are specifically about good and bad sellers, not listings or great / bad buys.

Here is one of those CCF threads (specifically directed toward sellers of ancient Chinese coins). I recognize that the specific area of collecting is more limited than many folks on here: https://goccf.com/t/266180
