I love these things. It's an 1885-O, just like my other one. This is another "family member of the original owner" pick-up.

Seller pictures. I'll re-shoot it whenever it shows up.

These tone to blue and gold.

Does the card make the coin worth more?

What was your max bid? I was watching this auction with 30 seconds left. I was going to bid $120 but decided not to. Would I have won? Just curious.

I was just watching an auction on an 1893-O Morgan dollar. NGC 53, toning, solid in the grade.

Edit: 282157468006

Auction was at $218 (!!) with 2 minutes to go. I laid in a $499 bid at 1 minute, with an increase bid of $650 at the 30 second mark, and then let the coin go; it sold for $660, which is still well under the market for this coin, but I don't want to tie up the capital in a flip coin at the moment. I was thinking, though: If I had dropped in $699, would I have won it?

My max was set at $119.99 so you most likely would have sniped me at $120.

There's always a bit of risk inherent in any Tidy House Morgan, since they did get handled quite a bit, especially when "new." But this one looks like a pretty solid coin.

Considering an 1885-O, sight unseen, bids in less than $60 in lower Uncirculated, you're basically paying 100% premium for the card and the toning. I think $120-$140 is the market "sweet spot" for these, unless they're exceptionally beautiful or somehow happen to be a scarce VAM. I've seen some listed for months at $180-$200 that don't ever sell on their BINs, and even some outrageous $300+ BIN's (that's low end Redfield money.)

One of my new VAM discoveries was a tidy house paralyze. Go check out 1888p v30a
Leroy even gave it an i5/r5 designation! And (i.. interest level) is a 1-5 scale!

I5 VAM's are always pleasant. I5/R5 and it should be on a Top list of some kind soon, I hope. With a Hit 40, a Hot 50, and a Top 100, we now need a Cascade 64, (C-64 for short, obligatory old nerd joke) -- Cascade's 64 Favorite VAMs.

Man, that V30A die was a wreck. Looks like an extreme example of LDS rim crumbling. I have that on my '86 V6B and thought it was pretty bad, but yours takes it to a whole new level of crumbling. Looks almost like rust. I'm going to have to keep an eye out for those '88P listings now...she's beautiful. Congrats on the disco coin, too.
