Right now I have most of my collection in 2X2s. I'm thinking about switching them to an album. Does anyone know if any of the major manufacturers make an album by year rather than demonimation? I have my coins arranged like this and I like it because it adds historical interest to me. And getting a year completed is easier than an entire series (although you still have the same problems with keys ***Edited by Forum Dad to move to correct forum***

I do believe Dansco make a year set album. Not sure about the others

Great question. Wish I could answer that but just never heard of one. It would even be rather difficult to make one from blank pages such as sold by Whitman. They are, as far as I know, all of one denomination per page. If you find one, let us know.

I think your best bet would be to keep them in 2x2's and buy those plastic 2x2 pages to slide them into. Might be hard to find that kind of album your looking for.

I'm with creaton on this one--gets some pages and store them in a custom album. It looks great, is cheap (maybe $20 for 100 pages with 20 slots per page) and is highly custom-izable...you can literally do anything you want with it.

I would keep them in the 2x2's, better then using an album IMHO.

Well, I wouldnt say its better to have them in 2x2's in general, just for his case it would be since there is no perfect album for him. I myself insist on using dansco's for everything, no slabs or 2x2's.

The only thing I can think of are airtites. There are two possibilities here: 1. You can buy the various airtites and then get one of their albums. This is shown in this link: http://www.valleycoin.com/index.php?cPath=300_561Problem with this is that it would be come quite pricey, very fast. 2. Get the Direct-Fit air-tites. Now buy a blank Dansco album and a few blank pages that hold 50 cent pieces. You will discover that once you remove the plastic sliding sleeves from the pages, the direct-fits will go right into the holes. Well, actually, it is the "A" airtites for pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and small dollars that work. This would not be a solution if you wanted/needed to put Kennedies and ikes on the same page. Although I guess you could use the original holes for the Kennedys. Oh one other last way... You could buy those Capital coin holders that people use for year sets. Then find a way of putting them into some kind of album. The problem with all of these is cost. Especially if most of the coins are not very valuable......

Dansco does make a year set album (Dansco Album 7091) but it only has ports for cent through half (no large or small dollars).
Another Dansco solution that might help is their coin stock album (Dansco Album 7000). Essentially you get the Dansco binder/slipcase but inside are 9 vinyl pages with 12 pockets per page to hold 2x2's. I like these albums for two reasons: 1. My old binders had the 20 pocket pages but would sag out the bottom of the binder from the weight of the coins. 2. I already have some Dansco album sets so by putting my misc or custom stuff in coin stock albums it just gives it a nicer uniform display look to the entire collection(and fits nicely on my safe shelf).

Wow, thanks for all the advice guys! I tried to get a good look at the Dansco 7091 online but couldn't find an image of a page. Ken3567, thanks for the info about them not holding large or small dollars. If anyone has an image of one of these pages, I would really like to see it. I probably will go for something like ceaton and GFR suggest - a three ring binder with clear pages that hold 2X2s. Good tip on the 12 pocket pages to prevent sagging. I also found some comments on Eagle albums in another thread: https://goccf.com/t/25907Has anyone tried one of these?

I also use the 3 ring page that hold 2x2's, I like this method because I can create any type of album I want, I just print out a cover page on a color printer and put in on the front of the binder and a spine insert and that way I know what album is what when its up on the shelf.
