Hello, I have $4.48 in face value of world coins and $3.57 in face value of Belize / British Honduras coins. I don't have any attachment to them and I am about to take them to my local flea market, an airport, or my bank to cash them in. Can you guys tell me if there's anything here that I shouldn't do that with before I do it?! I'd also appreciate any suggestion on what method you would use to cash these in. I know they're not the greatest pictures but I think you can get a fair idea of what's here. Thank you very much!   Edited by Joecontois

Banks don't take foreign coins. Nor do moneychangers at airports. Nobody does, except coin dealers, and they usually buy them by weight rather than by face value. The only surefire way to get "face value" for them is to go to those countries yourself.
Some of the coins (eg. the Israeli ones, the old Finland one, the old Greek ones, the Australian cent and the British Caribbean Territories dime) are obsolete and no longer have a "face value" in the country of issue.

Belize is a beautiful country. I would use the coins as an excuse to go there and spend it on something.

At some airports, there are huge globes where people can donate their foreign coins to a good cause. You won't get anything back beyond a warm feeling in your heart.

Take them to your local elementary school. The younger kids love them. I do that with all sorts of coins. They love Kennedy halves and foreign coins. |

You could probably get a few bucks if you put the Belize/ British Honduras lot on ebay. It's a small commonwealth country, which means decent interest in proportion to very small mintages, often under 100,000 per coin per year. The silver coins are worth some decent money, but you might get about $5-10 for that second lot after shipping. |
