Hello,
My mom was searching through our old coin collection and found a very strange penny. We were looking at it and found the penny had a star on it with a lowercase n inside of it. It seems very professionally indented, didn't want to rub over it much a single to not corrode the penny. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? IMG_2086.jpg

I moved your post to the section for Lincoln Cents. A picture would help.

Here is the tutorial about uploading and posting images

That is a counterstamped coin. That's done by a private company usually to promote an event or celebrate something. Here is an example I have:

Its mainly considered damage to a coin. A collector of counterstamped coins may have interest, otherwise its worth 1 cent.

FWIW, that's a Jewish star and the letter "n" appears to actually be the Hebrew letter "Chet" (which sort of looks like the Greek letter "Pi").

These are always fun. There's an extensive counterstamp thread for these if you are interested in checking them out.

And , hope you enjoy your stay.

Another fine example of a counter stamped coin. NICE!
