My Peace dollar collection hasn't grown in over 6 months so I wanted to add something to it. I didn't have a 1922-S yet so I put in a bid and won this one. These are the seller pictures so I don't have it yet. I love that it's blast white (which goes with my set) but I feel the bag marks may be somewhat distracting. I also noticed there might be a small hit on the rim of the reverse on the left side. Is this considered "bad eye appeal" because of the marks or does the blast white color make up for that? Luckily it wasn't too expensive and I was able to add a date/MM I didn't have to my set. I'd like your opinion though. What do you think it graded? Thanks!

My opinion is it looks pretty good. Choice mint state good. It's not a gem but I'm sure you didn't pay gem money for it. The bag marks and hits on the rim don't make for "bad eye appeal" IMO.

I'm betting some of the "marks", particularly in the area from the right side of the nose to the left side of the neck, are from scratches and marks on the holder, not the coin.
If so, I'd give this a solid 63. I see nothing detracting enough to put this into a 'bad eye appeal' category. Nice and bright and doesn't appear to have been cleaned ever.
Common date Peace are SO OFTEN cleaned, it's nice to see one that hasn't been.

That's similar to one I picked up last month. I don't collect Peace dollars, I just wanted a nice but not overly expensive one for my type collection. So I'll call it the same as mine, MS-62

I think it's a good pickup, depending on what you paid.

Looks like there might be a bunch of hairline scratches on the slab. I think this one might be MS-63.

I am thinking CH BU. Typical looking for Peace dollars. I also think it will look better in hand than in these pictures.

This is a PCGS 63. I paid $68 for it. Sounds like I did alright!

The slab looks a little beat up, but I like the coin.

Received the coin today. It does look much better in person. All the scuffs around Liberty's face and even the white splotch over the crown is on the case, not the coin. I tried to take some pictures but it doesn't look much different because of those scuffs on the case. Luster is great on this one too. I think the hits to the reverse is what made this a 63 coin. Overall I'm happy!
