3 monthly payments of only $776.65? Lol.
There certainly are some big spenders. I'd love to see the entire coin collection of anyone that picks one of these up. I'm sure it would be very tough not to smile.
If I had that budget, I think I'd still rather just add the $32 to one payment and buy a 1 kg bar.
As nice as the 1 kg coins are, they are not collected by the average collector and despite their low mintage, they rarely hold their value. Don't get me wrong, this 1kg coin is awesome but I could never justify the cost. I'm sure it would make a nice focal point in any collection.
I wish they had the same design on a 1 oz silver coin, making it affordable to a broader market.

Well I broke down and ordered this coin with the 3 payments.
I can't wait to get it.

I have a large collection but nothing remotely close to the cost on this one coin.
After seeing that pic, this is the nicest RCM coin I think I've ever seen. Of course that's subjective but I just had to have it.

I did buy a gold delta coin with the sole purpose of selling it (which I did) but I won't be selling this one.
I was remotely intrigued by the Canadian Flag kilo coin a few months ago but didn't pull the trigger. I couldn't resist on this one.
Hope they don't come out with anything I want before I finish the 3 payments for this one, LOL.

I'm sure the RCM only has 1 or 2 coins coming out in the next few months so I wouldn't worry about the risk of finding anything else you like.
Just kidding, there will be likely be more than you can keep track of but sometimes you have to pull the trigger on a "WOW" coin.

Sure the Kilo coin is expensive. But I look at it in several ways. I loved the design of the coin and have been looking for a 1 kilo coin that I really want and this is the one. Its for my personal collection and I have no intention of selling it.

Comparatively at $2329 it is way cheaper than the $3360 for the Big Coin subscription. Or how about the Star Trek Delta coin at $1300 so many people are buying. People seem to have no problem buying multiple Star Trek Deltas, yet think the Kilo coin is too expensive.

So I received a call from the RCM today to inform me that after much consideration I would NOT be entitled to the same privileges if I refuse to order through a rep. I'm at the platinum plus level ($5000 annual), they feel it's in their best interest to give preference to members who order through a rep. I've turned downed the offer to have a rep; my point being, just make the coin available and I will order it if I want it.

I'm not convinced that this crown corporation is acting in the best interest of the corporation and not just protecting the sales reps that work down the hall. After 2 months of drilling this point, I'm not giving up; I can't see any other large corporation saying "no, if you want to just go to our web-site and place an order and not use our expensive sales representatives we will hold back your privileges".

Onecad, check out the screenshot I took when I am about to sign into the RCM website. There are references to Amazon... I wonder if the RCM website is running on Amazon servers and they pay according to dollar sales for the service. That would explain why they have so many disconnects with their systems and account details. Might also explain why they are pushing the bigger fish to reps and away from the expensive Amazon system.

All guesses on my part and could be totally wrong :)

That just means RCM is using Amazon CloudFront to deliver their web content. The concept is like web hosting, except Amazon doesn't necessarily need to host RCM's web pages, they could just cache them and distribute them through many of Amazon's servers around the world. This should (supposedly) improve web content delivery speed and reliability.

Moneypenny, I can come up with a fee reasons why people have no problem buying multiple gold delta coin compare to the 1kg silver coin
1. Can resell. Broader appeal.
2. Easy to stored the delta coin
3. Cheaper than 1kg coin

While it is true that it is easier to resell the Star Trek delta coin, I don't plan to sell the Kilo coin. People who buy Kilo coins are not out to flip it.

Some people are buying 2,3,4,5+ of the Star Trek coins. Even buying 2 Star Trek coins costs more than 1 Kilo coin.

Awesome coin! IMO one of the nicest coins RCM has produced.

I've been buying only Perth Mint kilo coins, but this is the first time an RCM kilo coin has really caught my attention. It's more than double the cost of the Perth coins, but it's worth it.

I'd take this coin over the Big Coin subscription, too. Tempted, but not going to buy because I need to cut back on spending.

I'll be getting only the first Big Coin, the Goose.

Moneypenney... I wasn't refering to flipping. Although it does sound like I was referring to flipping. I know folks buying 1kg coin are not flippers but it would be nice to liquidate these when you need it. Gold is usually easier to liquidate

Somewhat off topic, but I noticed CP offers Free Shipping on orders over $25. That's good to know as I've been putting off a postal outlet search for the 2016 Bell Island Haunted Canada Coin and Stamp Set that was released last month. Had CP shipping always been free of charge or is this a special offer, anyone know?

@wildflowerAB: I think CP has been offering free shipping for order over $25 for years.

I don't know about "always," but I've been getting free shipping to the US from Canada Post for the past two or three years.
