The missing "IGWT" probably a Grease Filled Die, maybe worth something to a specific collector.

Ok so even in the condition it's in it's not that desirable? Or worth getting graded? Thanx for all the help, I hope to return the favor by getting some good deals on the auction side once I get the hang of everything. I've only been collecting and studying for about a year or so but have some good stuff and my son and I keep learning so much everyday. Cool hobby

Also, I have a similar Canadian quarter 64 though, and only missing the a in Gratia. Which I think is 40 percent silver

a 1964 Canadian Quarter should be 80% silver

Ok cool thanks again and it should carry a lil premium with a letter completely missing and close to auction condition right?

would love pics of the Canadian quarter :) start a thread in the Canadian variety and error section, there's lots of knowledge there.
Feel free to call me Will.

Your 1990 D quarter could be worth some decent money in my opinion. I think that it would be a major Grease Filled Die error bc there is not even a trace of IN GOD WE TRUST. Usually with Grease Filled Dies the letters are still faintly visible. It could also be some other error why IN GOD WE TRUST is not present. Try posting this coin in the US Modern variety and error coin forum. Someone there may have more knowledge as to why there isn't even a trace of the letters.

with MS70Error5. It's a really cool error, and more than just the typical Greaser.

But people who collect them like it when a lot more is missing:

Coop is correct, I only save pieces similar to that unless there is a special circumstance

Let's see a more in focus, better lit, larger photo of the obverse, please.

I think when it is missing the whole IGWT like this one is that it would be consider a major Greaser - most of what I find are single devices or a couple of words in a row. Nice find :)
