I'm somewhat new to CCF and a bit inexperienced in coin collecting so I was wondering if any members out there would be willing to sort of mentor me with basic advice and more specific advice in the areas I collect (pennies, nickels, and 1$ bills with interesting serial numbers). In general I'm just looking for a friend on here, someone I can come to if I have a question, I'm youngish compared to most coin collectors and I don't personally know anyone that collects. I'm not expecting handouts give aways or anything free but my collection is very limited and it would be cool to see some interesting pieces added (littleton coin co. Is not very encouraging with their prices although I did get a decent deal on two commemorative half's), I'd make my best effort to trade.
Secondly I'm looking for someone with about as much experience as me (mostly coin roll hunting), to share finds with eachother and possibly set up some sort of regular trading pattern. I'm in the Denver area in case you need uncirculated rolls.
Thanks for checking this thread out.

I am much like you, I am a fairly young collector (recently started college) and have been collecting for about 4 months. I have practically put all my money, minus gas money, into my collection. I can say I'm pretty invested in it. I don't have many friends who share my interest with me (although my family is huge into collecting). I also live about an hour from Philly, so I don't get my D mintmarks, let alone S mintmarks.

Hey chase you sound like a great partner. We can trade bank rolls from our area and bounce information off eachother, as well as share the finds in our collection. *** Private information removed by Staff. Please do not post your address/email/phone number etc. *** we can work out the deals of our partnership, I guess to start off with send me an email explaining what you collect

< Coolman > , Every member on CCF helps and contributes information about coins and currency to one another . If your just looking for a pen pal this might not be the forum your looking for . Perhaps if you just change your wording to add any members who can help you out with questions or trading coins in the future then CCF just might be for you after all .

Lol thanks mama stinky, I'm not as young as Dustin though. I hope chase emails me, I really wanna trade rolls with him. Went to another coins show yesterday, finally bought myself a loupe, some bill holders (singles and pages) another Jefferson folder and an album for my 1941-1974 prized Lincoln center collection from circulation. Various world coins averaging about 15 cents each, 1875 1 pfeinng, 189? 5 pfeinng, older Canadian nickels and pennies a few francs and my coolest find... A 1795 coin, no idea where its from (only 50 cents)

Oh and a few proof sets 5 from the 80's for less than 4$ each because of various issues, mostly some kind of green problem with the cents. A 1976 proof set for 9$ and a AU 1964 Kennedy half for 8$ (pretty much spot for a collector coin.

I am digging up a not so old post, but I have the same problem of all kinds of Denver mint coins and hardly any Philadelphia. My coin books look like a picket fence with all the missing coins. I buy the Philadelphia coins, but I end up leaving them in the container they came in.

Hey, Chase and Coolman, I'm fairly new to collecting but have learned quite a bit. Feel free to PM me (click on my username and click "Send an Email").
I'm more than willing to help in any way I can. I seem to be in the geographic middle between you two. I get mostly Denver coins and Philly as a second. San Francisco ("The City") is a very distant third.

I'm glad to see other young numismatists on here, and especially glad to see y'all getting closer and friendly on a personal level and not just on the thread here. i met my numismatic friend on CCF as well and it has made the hobby 1000X better than it was when I went pretty much solo..now I have a good friend who shares the passion and talks often and attends shows with me almost always..it really is great to have a good friend who shares collecting interests. also, Gotabecoolman
Feel free to call me Will.

Thank you thedollarman. There's a YouTuber that searches for silver halfs I've been trying to get him to come to a coin show, I think he's in the hobby more for profiting on silver than actually collectimg
