Not sure about this one. It is the size of a nickel weighs 2.42, dark in color, shows signs of finning with raised rims?

Let me know what you all think, thanks for your time.

Looks like the surface has heated and the plating is now bumpy. The rims may have been finned a bit. But as all events that happen to coins, a very high fin are desired for a collector. This one is raised, but kind of ho hum. Most of the time they get rolled over from circulation. Yours is not there yet. As far as a Texas Cent, no. Why? Because if it were, the rims would be flat expanding the whole coin. This is not. What may have lead some to thing that was the surface of the cent. But on the Texas all the plating falls off.

So the color is more gray. This one looks blackened like it was heated.

Would the heating also make it larger like this one is?

Yes I think so, CC. Heat can make just about anything expand.

But the Texas Cent is not heated. It is squashed to make them enlarged. But heating would not make the coin expand like a Texas Cent.
