Am I wasting my time ?

I have got in the habit of checking my banknotes that I receive anywhere and when I chance upon an AA note I put it away in an envelope.

Now I have quite a few but some obviously have creases.

Are these worth keeping and is it a good idea to keep average condition AA notes.

I would do the same with last prefixes but the trouble is you don't easily know what last prefixes are.

I used to keep all AA's in top condition, but lost interest in them about 5 yrs ago. If the notes are well used, I'd put them back into circulation.

It really depends on the year and the denomination. A few of the ones from the 1990s are worth a lot, even with lots of creases in them, but generally, they're only worth face value. If you really want to know which ones to keep, I recommend getting a copy of Maccas.

Its probably not worth it.In most cases there are more than enough uncirculated notes around to meet demand.

The only exceptions are if they are 90s polymers or if they have an interesting serial number (radar, high number, low number etc)

Thanks for the replies.
Most are $50 and are recent issues.
