Looking into a Trade dollar for the 7070. What does this grade in your opinion, and what is an appropriate price to pay for it? Thanks for all help

There's enough detail there to pull a F-15 straight grade. Value about $130

Looks genuine, and is worth around $120 to me.
Rest in Peace

No problems evident and nice for a low Fine grade. Worth in the $110-$130 price range.

Thanks everyone. I negotiated it down to $130. I should take the deal right?

That's kind of tight. I like the coin, but I don't love it - obverse spots and possible prior cleaning. I'd say $125 tops - if you don't get it, there will be a similar one coming along soon.

Going up into the VF grade gives you a much more detailed coin for little difference in price. Trade dollars are heavily counterfeited. Recommend TPG which won't cost much more and is much less likely to have been cleaned.

I'd buy a details coin in a TPG holder and crack it out before I bought a raw Trade, unless I was very confident in the dealer, or in my knowledge of the coins, or both.

As far as cost, a few cheeseburgers one way or the other doesn't really matter. If you like it, and if it's for your 7070 you'd better, go ahead and make the deal. paralyse makes a good point above, though.

Thanks everyone. I am going to go for VF + in a holder and crack it out. I see them for sale for $150-200 which isn't much more than this one. Appreciate all the advice!
