US Mint - The United States Mint will begin accepting orders for the 2016 America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin - Theodore Roosevelt National Park (product code 16AM) on October 6 at noon Eastern Time (ET). The coin's reverse (tails) features a young Theodore Roosevelt on horseback surveying the terrain near the Little Missouri River. Inscriptions are "THEODORE ROOSEVELT," "NORTH DAKOTA," "2016," and "E PLURIBUS UNUM." America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins are struck in .999 fine silver and display the "P" mint mark indicating production at the United States Mint at Philadelphia. Each coin is enclosed in a protective clear capsule and placed in an attractive presentation case. A Certificate of Authenticity is included. The America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin - Theodore Roosevelt National Park is currently priced at $149.95; however, as with all products sold by the United States Mint containing precious metals, this price is subject to change. The current authorized mintage limit for both numismatic and bullion 2016 America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Coins for Theodore Roosevelt National Park is 150,000 coins. An announced maximum potential mintage limit of 30,000 coins has been set for the America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin - Theodore Roosevelt National Park. However, based on demand, the United States Mint may mint and issue more than 120,000 America the Beautiful Five Ounce Theodore Roosevelt National Park Silver Bullion Coins as long as the United States Mint does not exceed the 150,000 coin limit.

If I were to ever buy one of the 5 oz pucks, I feel like this would be the one I would get (since the Hawaii Volcanoes is so expensive now T.T) since it is a beautiful park and Teddy Roosevelt was one of the people responsible for our National Parks. Good luck to those that want them!

Wow! I was watching the mint site and the TR ATB went live at exactly noon eastern. I had just synced my clock so I would be at least very close to mint time and was spot on. Now if the mint could just that kind of precision in making the numismatic coins. Foxwoods Man, I did not start my subscription until May of 2013. Before that I had been buying them as they came out. The first one I received by subscription was the Perry's Victory coin.

After a CC snafu (for no apparent reason), mine has finally been marked as shipped by the mint but since that was at 4:30 PM eastern time, it probably won't get to FedEx until tomorrow.

Well, I was wrong. My coin actually arrived at FedEx in Southaven, MS at 7:43 PM eastern time today. It is scheduled to reach me on Monday the 17th but if recent history holds, it will get here next Thursday or Friday. One oddity, the last puck I received was listed by FedEx as being in a package 7x6x2 inches and 0.9 pounds while this one in listed as 7x7x7 inches and 1.0 pounds, maybe the fulfillment center ran out of small boxes.

I'm passing. I don't think the $62.35 premium over spot is worth it.

TheForce, if you don't want to pay the price for a numismatic coin, the bullion version of the TR puck can be had for right around $110 and it's price follows spot with a lower markup. Even when buying bullion you need to remember that the mint charges the APs something like $3.50 an ounce over spot for the 5oz coins (I think it is $3.00 for ASEs) so with silver at $17.50 right now a $100 puck is a bargain. That also means that the premium for the numismatic version compared to the bulk price for the bullion coin is more like $45.95.
