I have looked but have not found a list of modern coins that can only be found within US Mint sets-- but not other mint sets. I am excluding gold from this question I collect Silver Proof Sets, Proof Sets, Mint Sets, Half and Silver Dollar Modern Commemorative OGP boxes. I also collect coins series. Some coin series can be acheived in mint sets above (i.e. 2006 Silver Half Dollar). But then some coin series coins can only be bought in special US Mint sets, but not the ones above. Examples: The two dimes in the March of Dimes 3 piece set. The 4 Kennedy silver half dollars in the 2014 set. The 1993 matte nickel in the coin and currency set The 1997 matte nickel in the botanical set The 1998 matte half in the two coin Robert set All the reverse proof sac and Presidential dollars in the coin and currency and coin and chronicles in the last few years. Of regular series 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 cent and 1 dollar coins...can anyone tell me if I am missing any special commemorative sets above where there is not ogp method of getting the coin outside of the special set? Thanks

Interesting question .... More might come to me ... One possible 1999 SBA proof Was not in the regular proof set ... had to be bought in it's own OGP. Another 1996 W Roosevelt dime, only came in the 1996 mint set. FYI ... you have 1993 matte proof ... it is 1994 matte proof Jefferson

Thanks guys. I had forgotten about the unc and proof Ike's. Those weren't in the standard proof and mint sets. Same with 1999 SB and the 2014 kennedy high relief...even though I own them all. The others are in the mint sets, so I got them that way just by buying the standard sets (was considering the 1976 bicentennial as standard in my head, but technically they would qualify).
So I think I have them all then except the 1994 (thanks) nickel.

Several of those (notably the recent halves and dollars) are available in rolls and bags. The OP is asking about things only in mint sets.

I did not get it 100% at first ... I think the OP is looking for special coins that are not available in mint and proof sets. Non commemorative. Cent through dollar coins that are in mint and proof sets, but the OP wants versions of those coins that have special finish, or different mint mark. So satin coins 2005 - 2010 those coins he has in the in the regular mint set. But the matte proof 1994 Jefferson did not come in the mint set .. only Jefferson coin and currency set. I suggested the 1996 W Roosevelt, before I saw what he was looking for .. it is a special coin .. but he has that in the 1996 mint set. The 1999 Susan B Anthony dollars might count . they were not in the mint and proof sets, only came in their own OGP. OP .. if I am seeing this wrong .. please correct me

GR58, you are absolutely spot on. I did not do a great job articulating what I was trying to ask for-- but you did! I appreciate everyone's replies regardless.

I believe the 2000 US Millennium Coinage and Currency Set would be a set that meets the OP's criteria. The 2000-D Sacagawea dollar it contains has a burnished finish that gives the coin a proof-like appearance - this finish was not available on the Sacagawea coin in any other issued set. Also, the set contains an ASE that is known to have been struck at the West Point Mint even though it does not feature a "W" mint mark. ASEs were struck in Philadelphia and West Point in 2000, but none carry a mint mark. This set is the only way to know for sure that you're looking at a 2000 ASE struck at West Point.

That set is one I did not pick up in the past. If I had known about the SAC .. I am sure I would have ..
Next one that comes my way ... I will .. pick up.
