Just received these silver eagles today. THe 2010 looks a little frosty. The 2012 looks like all my others (normal). Were they made a little different in 2010 or does this coin have issues?

Dies are polished now and then, planchet quality varies by batch and even striking pressure differences can contribute to surface quality. Of course there's burnished pieces too. Actually the 2010 piece looks more "normal" to me.

A quick cruise around ebay looking at 2010 bullion coins, they are all frosty. You're right, completely normal.

As others mentioned the 2010 is the more common or normal finish but I personally prefer the finish on the 2012.

My 2009 ASE has that burnished-type of finish as well.

I like them both actually and both look 'normal' to me.
