I like it! Prefer the slightly dark over a washed/dipped any day.

Thank You Acloco! It appears to be authentic to me along with it being graded. Just curious on a possible up or down grade. AG

VF35 (details?) I would pass unless I had no other choices; this is not a cheap coin in any grade, but I'd take a VF25 or VF30 with better eye appeal over a VF35 or XF40 with low eye appeal any day of the week and all year long. The price spread is narrow between VG-XF, so you should be able to save up a couple hundred more bucks and get a coin with more appealing surfaces for not much more money. If this is a good deal, in a problem free holder, and you don't mind looking at it, then go for it. If it's not PCGS or ANACS (doesn't look like a NGC or ICG holder), stay away.

Thank You all! This coin is graded VF35 with no other descriptions. It is by ANACS. Adam, I appreciate your candor and totally understand your viewpoint. I am in agreement to a point. The deal was sealed today by a motivated seller. The price was well under the Whitman 2016 coin book price of a VF20. The only issue I have with it is the wear point on the lock of hair that covers the top of the ear seems shinier than the rest of the high points. The reverse is fine. I can live with the coin due to the budget. The collection is almost complete. Thanks Again All! AG

If the price is/was good ...I know I would do it.
That is a very hard hole to fill.
I would have no problem with the looks.

Price guides are available online. Several give historical sales data as well. A couple sites also provide currently available items in both auction or purchase.
Current PCGS price guide from VF25 to VF35 is:
7228 Shop 1894 1,225 1,250 1,275
Looking around the net, you can find slabbed 1894 Morgans in higher grades for the price level listed online.
