Anybody aware of this? I saw on at a coin show and then another on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/1819-Bust-Q...52267194843?.

Both were very worn but very strong doublin. I cannot find any good info on this variety.

A repunched denomination ... I thought that was not unusual.

Falls into same category as repunched mint mark ...

But no expert ..... maybe someone has better info

for the variety hound, its got some level of premium but get outside the JRCS and that group thins. You should contact them and pose the question. Someone has an expert numismatic handle on the die marriages for the series at that club.

It's rev K which comes on two varieties B-3 and B-4. Both the ebay and GR58's coin are B-3 an R-1 variety. On B-3 the 8 is equally spaced between the 1's. On B-4 it is close to the second 1. B-4 is an R-4+ variety.
