Well I had a bit of a spending spree recently, and found examples I could get to fill in my new 7070 album. I had most of these already, and hadn't actually intended to get an album because I didn't realize there was even such a thing as a type album! And was so pleased that it didn't include holes for anything impossible to get and that I was already so close.

I broke out a lot of my graded coins, by loosening my normal dollar limit on slab breaking a bit. But I avoided freeing my AU50 Seated dollar, and instead got a nice G6.

As many of you probably know, these pictures are a pain. This is about a good as I could do, some of the colors aren't quite accurate and I'm pretty OCD on these things so I just gave up tweaking eventually. :)

Thanks everybody! I'm really enjoying the album. There are a few "problem" coins in the set, but even they are coins I love looking at. My Flying Eagle cent has a dented rim, but you don't even notice that in its album hole. The presentation made the collection look all the more impressive.

Incidentally, I had read others on the forum recommend cutting slivers off the slides to make "shims" for coins that fit loosely. I tried that last weekend, and so far that seems to have helped, particularly with my 1838 large cent, since the hole was cut for the larger size. But there were other coins that kept spinning, and that has stopped (again, so far...).

Amazing set

I'm sure you had a blast filling the holes of such a set!

Is that a proof 1860-64 IHC or just proof like? I cannot tell!

ChildOfTheWheat, semi-prooflike maybe? It came in a PCGS MS62 holder (IIRC, I'd have to double check my grid). Here's an old closeup.

Congrats! Now you can start on the lifelong project of slowly upgrading the coins in the album...
